Design of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro

As illustrated above the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will come in two different colors which are the following:

  • Titanium White
  • Ultimate Black

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro has a unique smartphone design. It almost wants you to play games immediately and hold the smartphone sideways instead. It will also have six pressure sensitive zones that will advance gamers’ gaming experience. Plus you have four ultrasonic buttons on the top of the smartphone when it is hold sideways. Basically giving the extra console gaming feeling instead of a smartphone.

The rear camera is located in the middle of the smartphone, while the front camera is not in the front like other smartphones. It has a pop up front camera, but on the side of the smartphone and not the top like other smartphones. It was made like that to ensure gamers’ can shoot videos of themselves while playing games. I do not think many people will like the location of both cameras as it forces the user to hold the smartphone as a gaming remote or console.

The interesting part of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro design is that it has two type C plug ins. Yes, you read correctly. One is located where all smartphones have a type C plug in and the other on the side. Basically gives the user the ability to charge the smartphone either sideways or straight up. But, the word that if you use both charging sections the same time, your Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will charge its battery with a 99w power charge. That is a big amount of power and will charge the smartphone full very quick.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is dual sim, but cannot expand its on board storage memory with an SD card which is sad if you want to expand your on board storage memory. Plus the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro does not a jack plug in section. So wired headphone lovers, sadly you will need an accessory that goes through the type C plug in and allows your wired headphones connect to the other side. Luckily, that accessory comes with the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro’s box of contents.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro has two built-in cooling fans to ensure your smartphone does not overheat when the smartphone is used for a long time. The ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro only has one built-in cooling fans which is interesting to see how effective these two fans are in the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro.

Specifications of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is quite a big size smartphone and heavy to carry or use. Might upset some users due to the size and weight.

Even though the front camera is located on a wrong location, the front camera has great camera specs and is better compare to other selfie smartphones. Might be even the best with the 44 megapixel camera quality. The other smartphones’ front cameras are mostly 32 megapixel.

Rear camera quality is also good, but matches more with the mid range smartphones camera quality as compare to the best camera smartphones. You will still experience good photos and videos. However, the location of the camera might be problem for you if you do not like to hold your smartphone sideways.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro has a vast number of RAM memory or on board storage memory size to choose from. It has the best RAM memory size to choose from to ensure smooth gaming experience for the user without any hiccups. The on board memory size is good, but as gamer myself, you may experience you need more on board memory. Thus, it is sad there is no way to expand its on board memory storage to ensure you do not run out of space.

The battery capacity of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is impressive and will give you a long smartphone use experience without needing to recharge it with power regularly. Plus when it charges, it can charge really fast in a short amount of time.

Lenovo Legion 2 Pro VS ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro

The main difference between the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro and the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro are the following:

  • Size – The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is 0,12 inches bigger than the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro.
  • Weight – The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is 44g heavier than the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro. Thus, users will prefer to carry and use the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro more.
  • Camera specs – The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro wins this category hands down. However, the camera layout in weird spaces of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro might annoy some users. Thus, the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro may be more preferred.
  • Battery Capacity – The Lenovo Legion 2 Pros’ battery has 450 more mAh battery capacity plus charges faster compare to the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pros’ battery.
  • Retail Price – They both are close to the same retail price. Just remember it may differ in different countries and at different retailers.

Overall: The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is more impressive compare to the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro. However, the layout of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro and weight may offset users to rather go for the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro which gives the user the feeling of a smartphone still. The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro feels more like a portable gaming device as a smartphone.

Where can I buy the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro?

You can buy the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro online by clicking on the following images:

Sadly, the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is not available worldwide physically. It is only available physically in certain countries where the brand Lenovo is doing very well.

Conclusion

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is an impressive gaming smartphone. But to be honest, it is more of a gaming portable console than a smartphone. To use most of its features, you must hold the smartphone sideways like a Nintendo Switch.

Thus, if you are not into gaming, then definitely avoid this smartphone. But if you are and you solemnly just going to play games on it and nothing else, then the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is the smartphone for you.

If you like game, but want original smartphone feature capabilities, then the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro is the smartphone you should look at.

  1. Awesome review of an amazing-looking product.

I have tried everything from homemade triggers to controllers with a phone mount, but nothing has really provided the experience I was looking for.

I have had a few “gaming” phones that didn’t really fit the bill, despite being designed for playing shooters specifically. This Lenovo Legion 2 Pro looks like it covers all the bases and makes sure to eliminate the issues so many other phones come with as far as mobile gaming is concerned.

  2. Wow, this is unique. I mean, I almost expected something like this to at some point become a thing for gaming smartphones. I did not know that you can do it so skillfully though. I mean, the design looks bonkers. I love it. I mean, I’m not huge on smartphone games but I would still consider getting it for just daily corporate use.

By the way, I loved the analysis on it. Love to have such insights from an expert (about cameras, RAMs, and everything). I love the fact that it’s got great battery life. I really enjoy not having to recharge the thing all the time. Plus, it makes for a great smartphone to have on hikes and everything. That said, there probably are way more appropriate and sleeker phones for that. And I guess regardless of that you could just have a great hub with you at all times to counter bad battery life but still.

And thank you for comparing it to the ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro. It was insightful. 🙂

I am glad you find the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro interesting. The design is unique and has some great features. However, the design will not satisfy everyone due the design forces the users to hold the smartphone sideways mostly. If it doesn’t bother you, then you will be fine.

In terms of hikes and that, you may want to reconsider as the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro is quite heavy to carry and bulky. Thus, for slim smartphones, you will have to consider the Vivo V21 5G as an option.

We just had to compare the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro with the new ZTE nubia Red Magic 6s Pro to ensure users make the right gaming smartphone selection between the two.
